Doctor's appointment

Just a quick update for those who would like to know --
Eliana had her appointment with Dr. Samora, the orthopedic specialist today.  We were referred to the specialist by Eliana's pediatrician because she rolls her feet in when she walks.  After checking her out, Dr Samora said that Eliana's foot pronation is due to her flat feet and very loose ligaments.  She has hyper ligamentous laxis, which is medical speak for very loose ligaments.  The doctor had her bend and flex in all kinds of crazy ways which I didn't realize that Eliana could do.  She can touch her thumb to her wrist, which is a classic sign of the hyper ligamentous laxis.  So basically he said that her joints are loose and as long as she has no pain, there is nothing that needs to be done.  We can just watch and wait to see if it ever causes any problems.  Eliana must just take after her very flexible Godmother Rebecca, who is famous for being able to put her feet behind her head in a pretzel like maneuver.  So praise God for a happy and healthy little girl!

Fancyburg Park

Riding the Bumble Bee together.

Big smile!

Look at those faces.  Someone loves her dad!

I love love love this picture!
A few Sundays ago, we visited Fancyburg Park in the late afternoon.  It is such a nice park with lots of smaller playground equipment for little kiddos. The weather has been amazing, so we have been trying to get outside as much as possible.  Eliana now announces that she is done with dinner by saying "Park?".  When's she's lucky and dinner is early, we sneak in a quick trip before bedtime.  The best part of those park trips is that usually David is home by then so he gets to come too!

At the Zoo

On Tuesday, I took Eliana to the Columbus Zoo along with a couple of other moms and their kids.  Eliana was somewhat interested in the animals, mostly the monkeys.  She seemed a little bit confused when we went to see the baby gorilla.  I kept calling the baby gorilla a baby, and she seemed to think I was crazy because it looked nothing like any "baby" she had seen before.  Probably her favorite part of the visit was going to the play area after lunch.  It must have been my favorite part too, because it was the only area where I took pictures.

Eliana going down the slide with her friend Adele.
Going down the slide with Adele.  As I'm typing this, Eliana keeps pointing at the picture shouting "Dell!"  I guess she really likes her friend!
Another fun way to go down the slide.
Eliana got tired of the toddler area so she ventured out into the big kid play area.  She was too small to climb up anything, so she mostly just ran around.  This big slide is painted like a caterpillar.
Our pretty girl.

Eliana was getting tired and bored, so she she started doing headstands.

Tired girl!  Time to head home.

A Collection of Typical Days

Eliana likes to eat cereal with mommy and daddy.
"Was that bite for me??"

She doesn't let mommy and daddy eat very much of it though.

I'm putting her to work already.

Eliana's first braid!

Getting ready for daycare!
