Happy Halloween!

The Before Picture: I got a picture of Eliana in her full costume.  Ears and all.  That lasted about 5 min...

And After:  Eliana says her favorite part of Halloween is lollipops!

Trunk or Treat at St. Brendan's

Our church had Trunk or Treat this evening, and since I have to work on Halloween, this was a great chance for me to take the kids trick or treating.  Eliana wanted to be a purple kitty cat, and she wanted William to be a skunk.  I might have stayed up way past my bedtime last night working on costumes, but I got them done!  William was a hit!  Lots of people commented on our stinky little man.  Eliana was not so impressed with her costume.  After I made it, she told me that she wanted pants, she wanted a pink belly, and that she didn't like the ears... Oh well.  I thought she looked cute.  The most important thing though was she had fun.  At first she was a little intimidated and held my hand tightly.  After just a few "trunks", she really started to enjoy herself and would run up to the next person, saying "Trick or Treat!" without me even prompting.  She had a huge smile on her face.  I loved watching her.  And I'm so grateful that we had this event at our church so I didn't have to miss this experience.  When we got home, William was so tired and hungry.  Eliana took advantage of that moment, and plopped herself on the floor to dig into her big bucket of goodies.  Lucky for me, she had some trouble getting the wrappers off.  Once William was in bed, I found Eliana with chocolate all over her face, about three candy wrappers on the floor, and about five more pieces of candy still in their wrappers but covered in slobber...

And tomorrow she gets to have a Halloween party at preschool and wear her kitty cat costume again.  I love watching her grow up!

Eating some candy at the end of Trunk or Treating.

Oh, then a skunk came to steal some candy while Eliana wasn't looking.

Not just any skunk.  But the cutest skunk ever!

Ahhh, I love this kid!

Our Boy

Look at this little lumberjack I found out back behind our house chopping wood...

3 months old

Our little man is not so little any more.  He just keeps growing!  William is now three months old.  Without a baby scale, it is hard to know exactly how much he weighs.  But I did my best with the bathroom scale which says he weighs about 15lbs.  This little three month old is wearing 6 to 9 month (and the occassional 12 month) sized clothing.  Yikes!

Hehe, I think he looks pretty dorky here with his pants pulled up so high.  It might just be the angle of the picture.  His feet look gigantic in this picture!

Eliana gets jealous when I take William's picture.  She asked if she could join.  I think William loves it.

William has been working on holding his head up.  He likes tummy time much better now and even occasionally sits in the bumbo seat. I have also been trying to wean him off of his swaddle while he sleeps.  We have found him on a couple of occasions with the swaddle up over his head (he is always trying to pull his arm up to suck on his thumb), so I think it would be best if he didn't us it any more.  But he just sleeps so much better with it!  This growing up thing is hard.

Tummy time always ends up like this - Eliana snuggling and William crying.

The Big 3-0!

Oh no, look who is thirty!  My wonderful husband just celebrated his 30th birthday.  What an old man! :)

Despite the fact that David thought that I had forgot his birthday (which in fact I had not), we celebrated in exuberant fashion with no less than four birthday parties!  This was not a birthDAY, but rather a birthWEEK.  I think David had a great time celebrating with everyone, especially when we went to Indianapolis to spend time with his family.  Here are a few pics of our merriment:

The week started off with a surprise birthday party with David's friends from his residency.

David got a birthday card that sings.  I think Eliana appreciated it a little more than David did.

Getting some cake from Nikita.

Another birthday celebration, this time with some friends with kids that we hang out with a lot.  I made German Chocolate cake.  Beautiful, right?  This was before we cut it.  Eliana did help me with the candles, but the falling side was all my own.

Funny story - Eliana knows that she likes chocolate cake, so she kept thinking she liked this birthday cake.  But I think she really did not like the German Chocolate, because every time she got a piece, she would take one bite, say "Yum!" and then not eat any more.  She really wanted to like it though!

In Indianapolis with David's friend Angelo who is holding William.  Angelo also celebrated his 30th birthday earlier in the month.

His birthday is not complete without an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.

Celebrating with the whole family.  Rhonda came too, but unfortunately she had to go to work before the cake.

God sure blessed us all 30 years ago when he gave us David!
