A Day in the life of the Bonds

What, might you ask yourself, do a mostly stay at home mom and two fun loving kiddos do all day long?  Let's see...

We start out with some breakfast and "Agua" as William always calls it.  William is in outfit #1 for the day.

Eliana is having some toast.  I'm the best mom ever and am feeding her chocolate toast, per her request.
Mmm chocolate

So handsome.  And tired.  Nap time after breakfast.

Eliana and I dress up to play princesses while William naps.

Next we head off to our friend Holly's house for a pool party.  William is playing basketball instead of playing in the pool.  Outfit #2.

Check out this awesome pool Holly has!  And her husband Rick blew that inflatable pool up all by himself.  I can't imagine how long that took.  The kids had a blast!

Eliana and Adele.  BFF!

Leo riding a bike.

Amelia and Eliana thought this was hilarious.

This was actually the last time our mom's group will be all together.  All 5 of us moms plus 11 kids spent the morning together.  The next week Theo and his family moved for his dad's job; then later this summer Amelia and her family will move for her mom's job. It was kind of an emotional goodbye after lunch. I can't begin to tell you how much these women have affected my life these past few years.  The support and love, the camaraderie and sympathy, the joy and good times.  Being a mom can be a tough job, and as Fr. Rick reminded me at a baptism this past weekend, it takes a village to raise a child.  I feel so blessed to have been a part of this group.  We will be a little smaller next year, but hopefully will still have lots of fun times.

In the afternoon, Eliana wanted more pool time in the back yard.  At first William was napping.

William's first pool experience!  I wasn't sure I was going to let him in the pool but then Eliana took a bucket of water and dumped it on his head (wearing outfit #3), so I figured might as well now.  So I put him in his swim trunks and let him in.  Eliana was right, William loved it!

Eliana uses a stick hit the wind chime to make it ding.

My little swimmers.  Eliana picked big leaves off the trees and put them in the pool as sharks.
So that's our day.  It usually ends in tears because we play outside too long and then by the time I start to make dinner, the kids are STARVING and beg to eat cereal and candy.  After dinner, we try to get the kids to bed as soon as possible so that we have at least an hour or so of adult time before we hit the sack as well.  It's busy, and the days fly by all too fast, but it's a good life!  Praise the Lord for the blessings He has showered on us!
